Week 1- PART 1- Everyone chooses a painting to interpret with the focus on COMPOSITION (LINE, SHAPE AND FORM)

PART 2- Then we choose a second painting painted by a master to use for reference. We will add a layer on top of the 1st painting with the focus on TEXTURE - I will do a live demonstration on how to apply papers, fabrics, found objects etc. Get creative and bring something interesting to enhance your painting

Week 2 - Everyone chooses their own painting for reference with the focus on COLOR to layer on top of painting #1 using 8x10 images from our library - I will do a live demonstration using washes, blending and mixing to achieve specific colors

Week 3 - WILDCARD- Our focus will be different each WILDCARD week. We might talk about breaking the rules (how to break them properly) in realism and abstract. I will do a live demonstration on how to take a painting that doesn’t work and turn it into one that does. Another week we might talk about how to paint eyes or an ear etc. I will also take requests and be open to suggestions. You can bring a painting from home that you’ve been struggling with and I will guide you through the process of making it work.

Week 4 - We will take everything we learned from weeks 1-3 and paint a large group abstract or you can work on your own painting
